Hi, I’m Lydia Gordon. I live in Brooklyn with my husband and our dog, Hemy.
Several years ago I was stuck. My day-to-day was leaving me drained and uninspired. Not miserable, but also not particularly happy, I knew that my life could be better yet I couldn’t see a clear path forward.
Through work with my own therapist, I was able to break down limiting beliefs about what my life could look like and how I could feel while living it. I gained a better understanding of how the intersection of my identities affected my lived experience.
Now, when I think about the future, I’m more focused on how to make something happen rather than why it’s not possible. I make more space for play, friendships, and self-care. Rather than feeling stuck, even on the hard days, I feel forward momentum.
I believe this feeling is attainable for everyone, we just need the right support. That’s what’s brought me here.
I support you in figuring out how to live the life you actually want to live, not the one you think you should or the one you think you have to.
Through our work together, you will cultivate your strengths, recognize your areas for growth, and learn to be an active participant in your life rather than a passive observer.
My Approach
My approach is warm yet direct. I don’t claim to have all the answers, but I will ask you hard questions, challenge existing beliefs, and help you uncover and address what’s preventing you from living a life you love.
I take a systems approach, recognizing that we are all part of larger interconnected systems (families, communities, cultures, and societies). Naturally, our lived experience as well as our own thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are influenced by our environment and relationships. Whether it’s harmful family dynamics or systemic racism, I help you identify what isn’t within your control and harness what is. All so you can better navigate the reality of the world we live in and shed self blame for things that are not yours to hold onto.
Sometimes, even when we know what’s best for us, we continue harmful patterns of behavior or thoughts. I provide you with tools to trust your intuition. With it, you will move more confidently toward your goals and improve your relationship with yourself and others.
Grounded in psychology, spirituality, and studies of human behavior and mental health, I believe in addressing challenges from a holistic perspective that considers the state of the mind, body, and spirit.
If this resonates, let’s talk!
